Perspective

Emotional intelligence and agility regarding mind traps require giving yourself the time to look at thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that aren’t serving you and stretch your style norm. Imagine it this way, holding the thought, feeling or behavior in your hand outward stretched, then getting on the balcony and witnessing what the thought, feeling, behavior is doing in an actual, real-life scene. Getting it outside of yourself to see it more objectively. Sometimes this is difficult to do on your own. Afterall, it’s part of you right now – you’re subjected. Speak with a trusted person to gain perspective. Doing the balcony exercise with someone, an objective person, can illuminate in ways you may not be able to just yet. That’s where a coach comes in handy too.
