Defenses

Last week, I wrote about mind trap choice. Let’s review some of the things that can fuel a mind trap. First, defenses.

Defenses get a bad rap. Defenses were created to protect you from a real or perceived danger early on in life. A good defense is needed when facing a strong offense. Yet, we can continue to use the defense even when the offense is gone. We got so use to using them, they’re hard to shake and our own thoughts and perceptions can play tricks on us. We believe the offense is still real, still happening when it’s not – aka getting hijacked.
