Continuous Learning

Organization leadership needs to focus on both short term and long term goals for contributors. Learning gets put on the back burner when the short term focus continually drives. There is a price to pay for that - innovation and growth. If the mindset of maximizing short term results only is passed onto contributors, they’ll adopt the premise that short term focus is more important. They’ll be difficult to motivate for continuous learning. Leaders need to make it a priority, a value. How? By rewarding learning. Commit to it, embed it in the culture, the strategic plan, model it, applaud curiosity, nurture critical thinking…. you’ll be glad you did.
