The Importance of Transparency

I’ve worked with leaders who are anxious about being transparent – about themselves and about their organizations. I get it. If you say it or let them see it, it makes it real and then you have to deal with it.

The flip-side though is dealing with the stories people are creating in their heads due to the darkness they are in.

Ask yourself this: How many variables will you need to ‘deal with’ if openness and honesty happen vs how many variables will you contend with due to the stories in different peoples’ heads?
