Redefining Listening as a Leadership Tool
Active listening goes far beyond nodding and paraphrasing. At the leadership level, it is an intentional, multidimensional process that involves cognitive presence, emotional attunement, and behavioral alignment. Leaders must listen not just to respond, but to connect, diagnose, and empower.
Key Principle: Listening is not a passive intake of information, it's a dynamic method of influencing outcomes, shaping culture, and building trust.
